I have the kdc-mp819 cd/mp3 player and have had a few problems with
it.  The first problem is that occasionally the unit will just turn
off and there will be no screen display or sound but you can tell that
it still has power.  The only way to reset it is to either unplug it
or just a toothpick to reset the unit on the face plate.  Secondly,
the cd play stops working and I have to beat on the dash in order for
it to come back on.  As of right now the cd stopping is the most
prevalent problem.  Any suggestions?  It is installed in a F-150.

thanks

My MP919 had a similar problem.  Turns out the cable that went from the face
to the internals had broken.  I suppose its a problem with the MASK
technology,  IF it happens again, I doubt I will wait the 3 months for
repair, and just order the part and fix it myself.

Is the 919 a motorized face?  The mp819 is not motorized and what
cable would it be that attaches to the MASK?

Ahh yeah the 919 is motorized, it has the face that flips over.
