I am trying to hook up RCA plugs to the back of my ford taurus 2000
SEL MACH (I believe MACH 6) factory spec deck in order to get some
quality sound. If you havn't seen this deck, its insane because its
mold for the car is so specific, it seems impossible to replace.
Anyways, it has 4 holes on the front of the deck/hvac console. I
figured I could remove the deck by pushing in 4 thin screw drivers
which could pop it out. Well, I monkeyed around with it for awhile,
with no sucess. Then, I removed some panels and kind of got a view of
behind the deck, which appears to have NO RCA plugs at all. I am
curious if anyone knows if these decks have RCA plugs, or if anyone
knows how to efficiently remove the decks. I looked all over the net
with seemingly no results. Any help would be much appreciated.

You can change the radio if you want. Kit runs about $60 if you do not have
the electronic temperature controls. Second, the unit that is up front is
not the actual radio, it's a controller. The real radio is in the back left
corner of the trunk. Pull back the carpet under the antenna and you will
find a silver box with 2 plugs and the antenna connection. But still you
have no RCA's there either, you will need to use a line out converter, but
hook up at that silverbox.

Go to your local stereo shop or wal-mart and purchase a set of ford radio
keys (2 horse shoe shaped pieces of metal.) use these in the four holes to
remove the radio(controller).
