I've been offered a deal on a demo version of the JVC KD-S690
CD/Tuner. I can't find any reviews for this deck on the net so I was
wondering if anyone had an opinion. Would this better than an entry
level Clarion, Alpine, Panasonic, etc?

I'm just looking for something to replace an old factory radio/casette
that recently quit.

My budget is approx $110 USD or $150 CAD (pre-tax).

I just bought a JVC KD-AR300, similar to the KD-S690 however I believe
it is from a higher-end line, has MP3 playback and 4X50peak power at
C$199. I will install it over the week-end, e-mail me next week if
you want some feedback. My application is also to replace a failing
factory head unit with stock speakers.
