I was wondering if I would be able to get my headunit to work,
even if the key isn't in the ignition?

There must be a way to wire it up to the battery so you could do this, right?

I have a 1993 Fiesta.

Take the power wire for the deck that's supposed to connect to a
switched +12V supply, and connect it to a constant +12V instead.
You'll have to remember to turn the stereo off when you get out of the
car, but other than that, it should work fine.

How dificult would it be to wire in a relay or something that you connected
to your car door so that when the door was opened it turned the radio off
(and hte radio would stay off until you hit a momentary switch the next time
you got in your car)?
