Ignition Noise

Just purchased a new CD deck off of ebay.  I decided to spend most of my
budget on decent speakers and cheap out a little on the deck itself.  I
think I made a big mistake.  I purchased the KOSS MS 1181-2 CD/MP3 player
and was very happy with the sound quality,... until I started the engine!
There is a huge amount of ignition noise whether on radio or CD.  I was told
to double check the ground but after doing so I don't think this is the
source of the problem.  The fellows at the local specialty store tell me
there should never be any ignition noise with a new unit!  At the moment I
plan to send it back but would still appreciate any information on this
problem.  Is there an easy fix?  The vehicle by-the-way is a 98' Mazda
Protege.

1. It's a Koss , expect the worst .. 2. It might still be teh ground
the ground shouldnt be wired to the harness factory ground . You shoul
make it's own seperate , bare metal( paint scraped ) ground somewher
near the hu. 3. If you wanted cheap you couldve gotten a brand ne
Eclipse high qual CD for $75 / free shipping .. I bought 4 of um .
