This is no doubt a newbie question, but please bear with me. I just got an
MP3 CD player for my car, but when I burn discs for it, it plays the songs
by alphabetical order, rather than the order I chose when I did the burning.
I'm using MusicMatch.
What's the trick to getting the songs to play in the order I want. I also
have Nero, but will try any software that's suggested. I have hundreds of
MP3s (from CDs I legitimately own) and it sure would be nice to be able to
hear them with the songs in the proper order.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I've got MusicMatch Jukebox 6.0 so I'm responding based on that.

One of the editable tags available is Track Number. It appears that by
default, that value is 00. Perhaps (although it is very tedious), editing
the track numbers will help play the songs in the correct order you want?

In Music Match, Click Options, Settings, Recorder, Tracks Directory.  In the
"Name Tracks Using" section, check Track Number and Track Name.  They will
then have a number in front of the track name, 01, 02, 03, etc, which will
cause them to play in the correct order.

Check out the program MP3 BR Imager ( www.mp3br.com ).
It will generate CD image files that will play in whatever order you want,
without modifying the file names or anything.  Then you burn the image file
using Nero or whatever.
It works great, I'm surprised there aren't other programs that do this (that
I know of).
