This is what I think is an awesome idea, maybe it has already been
done, but I think it would be awesome if Apple would partner with a
headunit manufacture (Alpine would be my preference) to make a
headunit with 802.11b/g(WiFi), so that when I pulled in my garage and
the headunit gets a signal from my wireless network, it would autosync
its library with the Itunes software library. Or really it wouldn't
have to be itunes, but just a headunit that operated on WiFi that I
could drag MP3s to. I think its an awesome idea.. Well the car would
probably have to be operating for this to happen because harddrive
writing is power intensive...Probably not more than a battery can
provide without running out, especially for normal transfers...Just an
idea.

Far more workable, generally, is to take the hard drive with you. And
hey, if it's a hard drive that you're carrying around, why not make it
an mp3 player itself?

Alpine should be coming out with an iPod adapter shortly; it sticks your
iPod on the AiNet bus and gives you basic transport controls as well as
song information/browsing from the Alpine head unit.

Dension (http://www.densionusa.com) also has a similar solution that
works with a bunch of different head units, the iceLink (especially the
1.1 version, which includes an integrated iPod cradle/Dock for the car).
The iceLink currently only provides transport controls, not browsing or
song information display, but it's something.

oh he can get two components with bluetooth, that's what this protocol was
set up for.
