Hi,

She drives a 2001 coupe with 4 factory 6"x 8"s.   I'm not really sure it
would make that much difference in sound?... but I figure it couldn't hurt.
Not looking to spend a lot of money here.  I found some Sony XS-W5721s
pretty cheap.  I have Polks in my truck but they didn't start sounding good
until I upgraded the head unit and amp.  She DOES NOT want that kind of
install.... just clearer sound.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jon

I put some Polk GXs in my wifes Mazda, and she is very happy with them.  I
also put in a cheap 130 dolla bazooka amplified sub.  And it gives her just
enough low end to make her happy, and wiring was a breeze, because like your
wife, she was not interested in the whole shebang.

Does she have the regular factory system or the 'Mach 4' upgraded system.?

She has the regular system.  Not much to write home about but sonically
better than my original F150's factory stereo.  The bass response isn't too
bad.. maybe because of the smaller interior space.  However, the midrange
and highs are kinda flat.

Infinity would be a good clear speaker. I have an 8 speaker system in my GTP
that is all infinity reference series, along with 2 JL subs. It is crystal
clear and i get alot of comments on my mids and highs
