Hi, I have an older Polk DB12-4 speaker (from about 1999 or 2000, back
when Polk was putting out pretty quality stuff.) This sub was rated for
400 watts RMS/800 watts peak. I am having trouble finding the specs
anywhere for how much cubic space a sealed box should have for it.

If anyone can help me, please do.

This is the big black sub with the hefty black rubber surround, the
5-way binding posts, and the big-a.s magnet in the back. It is not a dx
but a db, 12" subwoofer.

I think those like about 1 cubic ft. and 400 watts min.
if you don't have the wattage... do 1.2cubic ft.

FHLH....
