Hey people, LONG time (blackgold for those that remember me) Anyways, I'm a
dumbass and am moving into a new headunit.. decided on a CD700 cua I like it
and that's about it. :) How much better is the CD700ll than the cd700? I have
an awesome lineup on the 700... If it's not worth getting, Ill probably just
get a CD400 (the price is right on the cd700) Anyways, any input would be
appreciated.. Would love to hear from people who own the CD700.. if you wanna
email me, my email is Bshubert@gmail.com
Thanks

I purchased mine from Peter Lufrano at http://www.theautophile.com
I don't know if he still sells them.
At least a few years ago there was a few dealers in the Seattle area and one
in Portland. I know Quicksilver Audio in Kennewick, WA has them as well.

So can ANYONE comment specifically whether or not the CD700II is actually
better in terms of skipping, tracking error or reliability. Any dealers
reading this? Peter?

The CD700II supposedly uses a different type tranny mech that is said to have
fixed the skipping problem... I really can't comment yet as I have a brand new
700II which i have not installed yet... Maybe I'll put it up for sale as I
don't know if I'll get to do this car system... All top Zapco comp amps and
Zapco 30band mono eq's, line drivers with the Nak CD700II brand new still
untouched in the box with auth dealer warr... Was very hard to find the CD700II
from an auth dealer w/warr... took me months to find a dealer that actually had
a CD700II... I was told I received 1 of only 5 that entered the country... I
did feel lucky without being told that as I could not locate a CD700II anywhere
across the country... I'll sell it but it's not cheap... Try to find one,,
(brand new never touched in the box w/warr).. movethat@aol.com -- no F-ing spam
please...

I used to own a 700 for about a year. I absolutely loved the SQ...it was
like a dream in that respect. But it skipped quite a bit and was very
finicky when playing any of my CDs with even the slightest scratch. So if
you like a boring, no-nonsense, finicky & skippy yet supberb sounding player
then I say get one. You'll either love it or hate it.
I myself would also be very interested in hearing what the real-world
differences between the original CD-700 and the CD-700II is. Did they
really solve the skipping and tracking error problems, or does it just look
better on paper?
