Speaker popping then fading in

This just started after having the speakers for a few months. The front left
component set will lightly pop (barely audible) and then fade back in to the
same volume as the rest of the stereo. Also when this is happening the right
front component set is not playing any bass. This is an intermittent problem
that does not occur all the time and when it does occur the pops seem to be
semi-regular. Could this be a bad ground or a short?

I don't think they are blown, they are Infinity Reference 6010cs being
pushed by a 25w RMS headunit. The speakers are rated at 90w RMS. If they are
I think they are still in warranty though... :(

hmmm.... now that I think of it they stopped doing this while the fuse to my
sub amp was blown and now that it is replaced they have started up again...
wonder if there is a connection?

No way it has to do with short. No such thing as bad ground. You might
have
some wire not firmly connected or loose. Check the wire make sure they
are
all connect right.

I'll check the wiring, I hope it is that...

It sounds like it could be a blown cap in one of your crossovers. Can
you swap sides and see if the problem switches to the right? It's
possible your dealer can fix it in a few minutes without sending it
away.
