hey, my friend has a 2002 mazda protege...  he "accidently", as he put
it, shorted the wires out on the back left speaker. now the deck doesnt
make any sound, just turns on and acts like its playing...  think its a
fried fuse? if it is....  how do i get the deck out....  there are 2
slits below the deck... do i put din tools in there?

If it was a fuse the unit wouldn't come on at all. It sounds like the
internal amp is defective.
If the car has an factory external amp it may have a blown fuse. check the
owners Manuel for fuse location
