On their website Hifonics claims the TX 8805 is 220watts x4 at 2ohms
and 110watts x4 at 4ohms. I'm suspicious this has to be peak power, not
continuous, or did I just stumble across an unbelievable power monster?
The link below goes to product list that claims 110 x4 RMS @ 4 ohm.
Follow the specs link and it goes on to show 220 x4 RMS at 2 ohm. I
searched this group and could not find any thing bad on Hifonics. I'm
thinking of buying this amp. What do you think?

In most cases, a halved impedance won't produce exactly double the power.

I have no personal experience with newer Hifonics amplifiers.

well, they do make a 10,000WRMS amp so, 220WRMS shouldn't be out of the
realm of possibility for these guys.
