Just had a new right side fender installed on my 96 cherokee but lost
the antenna. Any ideas on how to run the cable from the fender to my
radio. Can't seem to find the original route.

Where on the fender is the stock antenna located?  If it's all the way
at the rear of the fender, you may be able to access the underside of
the antenna by removing the passenger kickpanel.

I'm kind of surprised that anyone would replace the fender (and
presumably the antenna as well) without re-connecting it to your
radio, though.

I think on that vehicle you have to loosen part of the fender skirt
(I think that's what it's called). after you loosen the skirt, there is a
grommet
that goes into the passenger compartment. you may have to take out the
passenger side kick panel also. I think that year Jeep had a antenna
connector
in that kick panel, so if you get an OEM antenna, you may be able to plug it
in there

Thanks. Is the fender skirt the part inside the engine compartment? And
the kick panel, I assume is in the passenger compartment?

the fender skit is the plastic cover part inside the wheel well. if you turn
your steering wheel
all the way to the right you can access the screws better
