I do not have the security code for my Hyundai Excel 1991 car radio and
casette player. this is the original radio that came with the car.
Would it be possible to get the code for the radio from a local Hyundai
dealer?
In case this proves to be costly, I will try and replace the factory
installed radio with a radio that my friend gave me. However I don't
have information on what wire is what on the excel radio. Where can I
get a wiring diagram for it? Also, what are radio harnesses? Can they
be used to connect the new radio?
Thanks.

Just replace the radio. The Hyundai dealer is going to want money for decoding
the radio, seeing that it's a 91 and a casette player, its just not worth it.
For the few bucks a wiring harness is worth go for it. Plus there is noting
worse then a radio hack that chops wires to save a few bucks.
