I have an opportunity to buy two of these subs for $80.  Are these good
subs?  I always thought MTX was a respected brand but I have never used MTX
subs personally.

Any personal experience with these subs would be REALLY appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!

From everything I've ever heard, MTX makes very respectable subwoofers.  I
checked out the 1204s on their website and they look pretty solid.  They
also appear to MSRP for $270, so you certainly couldn't go wrong by getting
2 of them for $80!!!

Thanks Tony.  Yes, that's what I thought.  Gosh, and I already bought that
pair of 15's.  Oh well, I just can't turn down these MTX's.  I'm sure
they'll sound better than the cheap 15's.

Great deal. If you go ported with them in a 3.5 cuft box they will get nasty
loud. In fact I was looking at them last summer and the only reason that I did
not go with them was the price tag $350CAD a pop and the 2005 Alpine type R's
had much better specs for $100 less. But owning a pair of them for $80 would
be somewhat exciting

I just got the subs yesterday.  THEY ROCK!!!!!!!  I have never owned such
high-tech speakers.  I can't get over how heavy they are, and it is
interesting how similar in styling they are to JL's new 12W6 and 12W7.  It's
funny how tall subwoofers are getting.  These are over 8 inches tall.  It
seems like soon subs will be taller than their width.
Can't wait to hear them in my car!!

Cool!!  Can't wait to hear how they hear when I hear you tell me how they
heard.

Isn't "hear" a stupid word if you say it enough times?
