Hi all,

Finding a unit that will do all this is confusing.  Anybody know of a
unit that will do all these things.   It's for an RV, and will be used
to watch DVD's and listen to music.

* DVD player without an LCD attached.  I have an LCD monitor mounted to
the wall and will run the video to it.

* Plays MP3 from CD/CDR/RW

* Has front aux input for a portable MP3 player

* XM ready & Wireless remote - would be nice but not essential.

I've found a Sony that does what I want, plus a little more that I
don't need, but it's a little pricey and out of stock.

Anything comparable that you know of?

With my experience, headunits that include video capabilities are
fairly expensive still, running at least $400 dollars or more. I
personally dont know of any, but I can tell you not to expect one much
less than the 400 dollar mark unless you Ebay or something of that
nature.

Against my better judgment, I would recommend checking out Pyle's head unit
product line.  Although Pyle is not known for great quality, I believe they
specialize in head units with unusual combinations of functions, and their
prices are quite reasonable.  Check out Part's Express at
http://www.partsexpress.com/  for a complete listing of Pyle products.  I
bet you'll find what your looking for.

Hello Biker,

Giving myself a plug -- I own Pious Audio (http://www.piousaudio.com)
and have a number of DVD players that would fit the needs you've
described.  Some are in-dash, and some are remote mount units.  I've
got multi-zone units, and single zone.  Just as an exable, I'll list a
few options that I carry:

Clarion VS755, in-dash DVD/MPS/CD/CD-R/RW, $180.70 (plus shipping)

Pioneer DVH-P7000, in-dash dual zone DVD/CD receiver with AM/FM and XM
ready, $583.70 (plus shipping)

Audiobahn AVDVD35N in dash DVD, AM/FM/TV receiver with remote $170.30
(plus shipping)

I also carry a brand called Absolute which I must admit I've not had
much experience with.  They are very inexpensive, but I can't speak to
quality or durrability at this point.  If you'd be willing to buy one
and tell me how it works, I'd give you 20% off.  There are a few of the
Absolute units that may fit your bill, including the DRT-600G with the
DVD/VCD/CD/MP3 AM/FM and built-in TV tuner with remote for $163.90
(plus shipping), there are more along those lines, all similar to price
with that one.

I've got Pyle, as well, which someone else recommended you check in to.
I personally have no problem with Pyle's performance, and my customers
are generally complimentary of their products given the price points
that Pyle hits.  The Pyle PLTVD158 has AM/FM-MPX, DVD/CD/MP3 with bult
in TV tuner for $175.50.  The PLDVD178USB offers the same basic
functions as the 158,but with a USB input for MP3 interface for
$167.70.

Finally, I've got a Legacy remote-mount DVD player with remote for
$83.20.

You can check out my website, but most of my inventory isn't there yet
-- if you've got questions, you can contact me via the information on
the site.

Thanks,

Don
