Single Voice Coil Sub-> 2-Ch Amp-> Mono Setup?

I have an Alpine 2-channel amp. I would like to run the amp mono with
my single voice coil sub. The Amp mode selector (stereo, 1+2, mono) is
in the mono position. How do I hook up the speaker leads to the amp
correctly? The same as bridged connection, one pos to left one neg to
right or either the left or the right channel by itself with the other
unused? Just want to make sure I don't blow anything up...

If you actually just want to run "mono", then just switch to mono, and hook the
speaker up to one output or the other; the "mono" switch simply sums the two
inputs together. If the amp supports bridged operation, though, I'd think that
would be recommended, as you'll have more power available and as such will be
less likely to clip the amp's output.

It depends on the amp. I've seen amps where in bridged mode you use the
left postive and the right negative. I've also seen amps where in bridged
mode you connect the left negative and the right negative to the subwoofer.
Often the amp itself will tell you at the speaker connections (it will say
which speaker leads to use in bridged mono mode). If unclear, seek out an
owner's manual.
