I searched and found many posts about bass CD's but I am interested in good CD's for quality sound. I love many types of music from Metallica to Mozart (skipping rap and opera). Look for recordings by Sheffield Labs (Clair Marlo's "Let it Go" is one of my all-time favorites even for casual listening)--they take their recordings *very* seriously. Signatureflak_monkey I can't name specific albums, but here's some songs: Seal, his self titled album, the song Crazy. The last 45 seconds or so is insane. Come to think of it, a lot of Seal's songs have some fairly dynamic bass. Nine Inch Nails, The Downward Spiral, the song Closer. Dire Straits, Brothers In Arms, the song Money For Nothing. The Eagles, When Hell Freezes Over, the song Hotel California. Steve Winwood, Chronicles, the song Higher Love. Limp Bizkit, Significant Other, the song Nookie. The Big Picture (Telarc), the track The Apollo 13 Mission. That's a great CD, I used to have that one years ago. Lots of awesome recordings of (as the name suggests) movie score music. One I've suggested often for testing bass is Mike Oldfield's "Amarok" album - go about a minute, minute and a half in. Very, Very clean sound! In fact I never listen to them, but the few times I've put in a cd of theirs, the music is so well produced and mixed. You might want to try one of their cd's.
