I worked in a stereo shop about 15 years ago.  I haven't looked at any
car audio since I did the system in my last car 5 years ago.  I got
hit the other day and that car is gone.

I just bought an '06 Impala and I want a nice sounding system.  The
factory system seems a little muddy, it does have a AUX input for my
iPod but I don't think that's going to be enough.

I'm looking at a Pioneer DEH-P590IB head unit, /w the iPod input.  I
will need the adapters to make the factory warnings work, and the
adapter to make the steering wheel controls work.  Any thoughts on
that?  Will everything work the same as with the factory radio?  Any
other Head Units I should look at?

I have Polk Audio Speakers at home and I was thinking about trying the
Polk Audio component set.  I have tweeters in the front door columns,
6 1/2"s in the front doors and 6x9's in the rear deck. Any others
suggestions for speakers?

I've got a 12" Memphis Sub and a 4 channel Memphis amp (st-2004), I
may have another amp (a friend said he had one for me) to power the
sub.    Any suggestions on a decent amp to power the sub in case that
doesn't pan out?

I would like to spend $1000 + install, no more than $1200.  I'm not
going for SPL I want sound quality at a good volume (a little kick
won't hurt though).

They should have everything you need.
