What our 60-year-old friend failed to notice is what *he* did prior to
that to piss the Mercedes guy off. Maybe he pulled out in front of
oncoming traffic and Slotherated? Maybe he cut the Mercedes guy off?
Or maybe he was just driving too goddamn slowly in the left lane.

What specifically triggered the disdainful glaring stare we'll never
know. What I do know, Grandpa, is that people don't pull up next to
you and give you the stink eye for no reason.

Given the comments of the 60-year-old guy, it's a classic case of
geezer vs. geezer...and the younger folks fortunate not to get caught
in the crossfire.

They do, however, give the stink-eye for no good reason, and for
imaginary reasons, e.g., knuckleheads who can't tell an LLB from a
driver keeping pace with traffic to his front while maintaining a
reasonable following distance, to wit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78RDIUVzHoU

Spurious conclusion; you have no way of knowing why he gave the stink-
eye.

The guy who did it to me did it because I wouldn't move over to let him enter
the freeway.  He also pulled ahead of me, hit the brakes and slowed down to a
crawl.  I laughed visibly.  I could see his girlfriend yelling at him.
Ultimately he floored it and I never saw him again.  If she's smart, neither
did his girlfriend.

You got problems!
Everybody seems to be engaged in trying to piss off someone or trying to
manage everybody else.
Get off the road. Don't turn on the TV. Dig a big hole and refill it
again. Repeat as necessary until too tired to give a damn.

I'm biking at night now just to avoid people. It's been really bad this
year.

But now you're suspicious because you're on a bike at night!  Beware of
the Sloth drivers that may try to crash into you, and any
selective-enforcement against your biking because you could be a
narcotics dealer.

I've only had one cop do a hard stare at me night riding this year....
after I turned I saw crown vic headlamps behind me... I don't know if
the cop did a U-turn to follow me or what... I just kept going and was
out of visual range in a few seconds due to a curve in the road. I
figure it was probably a different crown vic, it was certainly a crown
vic, but it didn't seem to have the typical cop upward aim to the
headlamps. (although it's more difficult to tell from a bicycle since my
level is much higher up than in a car)

These Sloths are a big part of the problem of traffic congestion.
Merging drivers must yield to traffic on the roadway.  If those merging
drivers cannot accelerate to the speed of traffic, they must stop and
wait for the lane to be clear.

MFFY!

> Get off the road.

Removing the Sloths would significantly-improve road efficiency and safety.

So you're saying that I should STOP to let somebody entering the freeway occupy
the space I'm currently using?

Somebody needs a nap.
