In the past couple of weeks, I have blown off sensibility because of
idiots.

The first instance was when I was turning left into a parking lot.
The driver in front of me was stalled, apparently waiting for a
bicycle on the sidewalk 30 feet away from the lots entrance.

I turned left behind him instead of waiting for him to sit on his a.s
for another 30 seconds.

Yesterday, I was trying to exit a parking lot and there was a road
hazard in front of me.

This car would not turn into the free lane available to him for
reasons I cannot imagine.  He (or possibly she - I didn't notice) was
sitting there watching trafiic in lanes 1 & 2 go by while ignoring the
fact that lane 3 (which just opens up at the parking lot entrance was
completely empty).

I honked (I knew it was useless, but did so anyway), and after seeing
that it was useless, I went around the 2 cars in front of me and very
carefully turned onto the 3 lane road.

Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I did that rather crazy maneuver, the
idiot decided to turn, using 2 lanes to do so - traffic had finally
cleared.

I had to swing over 3 lanes to avoid a collision and then had to
swerve across 2 lanes to make the lgiht.

Why the f.ck do some people require 3 empty lanes to turn right out of
a parking lot?

And while I'm at it, why the f.ck don't people use turning lanes to
enter parking lots?

I'm talking about those lanes which are meant for turning into parking
lots.  I drive past 3 of those on the way to work every day and there
are always people who insist on turning at the driveway rather than
entering the turning lane and getting the hell out of the way of
traffic.

We need to stop handing out driver's licenses like they are prizes
from a box of cracker-jacks.

Sad to say, but 1 of those turning lanes I pass every f.cking day
leads into the DMV (or MVD as it's called here).  It's amazing how
many wrecks I see at that section of road - it's not even an
intersection, but it is a common occurence for people to wreck just
outside of the DMV anyway.

IMO, if you wreck (or run out of gas as some idiot lady did the other
day) on the way to renew your license, the state should think twice
about issuing you one.

Pretty small proms compared to the speeders and DUIs and RLRs and CPDs.
Those criminals are killers and maimers.

These are the same people who begin to slow down for a freeway exit
while they're still on the freeway, instead of using the off-ramp as a
deceleration lane as intended. Or who slow down to 5 MPH so they can
turn into a parking lot, and make the turn as slowly as they possibly
can so they can hold you up as long as possible.

We also need to revoke the licenses of control freaks who get off on
blocking traffic.

Sometimes the right-turning lane is also a marked bicycle lane.  Try
being on a bicycle while they do this.  You haven't a clue what they're
going to do and no assurance at all that putting you under their wheels
isn't a part of the plan.  Sometimes they honk at you as if you're
expected to stop for them.

I know why they do it -- the turn isn't as sharp.  What I don't
understand is why people in cars with power steering worry about this --
I have a 7.5-turn non-power steering wheel and *I* manage to get in the
far right lane when turning into a parking lot, why can't they?

I suspect that it's not all that difficult to find people who will take
the test for you for a price.
