News item on local tv had a short about the high gas prices.
Interviewed a lady complaining that she had just put $78 worth of gas
in her vehicle.  Yup, an SUV.  At first I figured she might have some
reason for the complaint until she identified it as a 2005 Excursion.
That means she had to have known the prices were going way up before
she ever bought the dinosaur.

You sure about that? I thought the excursion was discontinued after
2003.  I remember ford said that was their plan anyway.

Apparently not :-)

Wrong, as usual.

A few years ago ford said 2003 would be the last year for excursions.
If that is not the case then ford is wrong not me.

You're the one posting the lie, faggot.

While on the subject of fords and your ignorance, here's a blast from
the past:

You can't even lie any good. No where in the country are cops issued
crown victorias.

Aren't there a few state troopers still running Cv's? I'm not sure if they
are new, or even close to new.

I know the number one selling cop car in Canada is still the CV, followed
very closely by the impala.

The CV is about all that the cops here in southeast Georgia use. Very
rare to see a cop driving something else unless it is for a specific
purpose - such as a pickup truck for animal control or a 4X4 for going to
the more remote areas - or similar.

A few? They *all* are, except for those few who have "undercover"
(usually drug-seized) vehicles.

Aren't they usually replaced every couple years? They are around here.

Same in the US.

So, you deny that Ford is still making Excursions?
What an absolutely ridiculous thing to do.

See for yourself: http://www.fordvehicles.com/suvs/excursion/

Like I said, you're wrong, as usual.

That's what you get for thinking, retard. The sad thing is you're too
damned stupid to learn you're not any good at it.

Tell the woman I said Tango Sierra, she wanted that land yacht, so now
she can pay the price. I have no sympathy for her.

Reminds me of an ex-girlfriend who used to complain about the property
taxes we must pay on vehicles. She stated property taxes were unfair,
as it kept her from buying a Lexus. I told her that if property taxes
were all that was keeping her from purchasing a Lexus, she really
needed to reconsider what type of vehicle she aspired to drive.
Strangely (and fortunately) the relationship ended that night. :-D
Ad absurdum per aspera - 30 Aug 2005 22:29 GMT
Reminds me of a news story several months ago, one of those routine
periodic tallies of  customer  satisfaction with various vehicles.
Therein it was revealed   that Hummer H2 owners were surprised and
displeased at (among other things) their gas mileage.

The displeased part is understandable, but being surprised seems to
imply that they expected something else.  Perhaps they thought that
somewhere in the owner's manual was an asterisk they could apply to the
laws of physics.

Yup, I have to laugh at a coworker who complains loudly about how expensive
gas is, and just bought a large 4-wheel-drive pickup a few months ago to use
only as a long-distance commuter.  -Dave

I run two jeeps, and the last thing I do is complain about gas prices, I
chose to drive these a couple years back, sure I could have bought some sort
of car but these fit into the life style better, offered more secure winter
travel (when used correctly) and allowed for some one of a kind vacations.

Since they are both bought and paid for I have no problem spending the money
to fill them, I figure the gas cost is of set by the ease of repairs (90%
done by myself), low cost of parts and more so the lack of a 15 to 20k (or
more) of car payments...

Not saying that if gas continues to climb I wont look at getting something
else, but since I car pool and drive once every month with 3 other guys I
can't go smaller on interior space.
