THE USA HAS YET ANOTHER HEADACHE!

>From a recent BBC article at
(http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4811458.stm):

The US has accused China of refusing to take back almost 40,000 Chinese
immigrants who have been denied permission to stay in the country.

The United States Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff
described the situation as "intolerable".
______

No wonder there's a talk about the US is making Chinese its official
language. In the past decade, the Chiinese population in the US,
illegal or not, has boosted nearly nearly 300%. In Australia, it seems
as if the Chinese population has doubled in the sam period. A sizable
number of Chinese have also been reported.  It looks like there's a
"spill out" of the Chinese all over the world. And no one seem to want
them, including their own country, as evident in the cited article
above.

The roads are in the West are now more dangerous with too many crazy
Chinese drivers. And as a result our auto insurance companies have
found a new excuse to jack up our premium! So, we all pay for this
"spill out" in one form or another. Also, there have been reports that
thousands of Chinese spies are at work in Australia. Not sure what they
want, but I guess Kangaroo meat wouldn't be a good replacement for dog
meat.

Goddammit.  America needs to ban all foreigners from the country.  I
agree that bad as most american drivers are, foreigners are ten times
worse.

Since all Americans, essentially, are foreigners, where do you want to
begin?  If driving is the problem, you can always open up a drivers
education company that caters to foreigners.

Yeah, I hate it when that happens.

Sorry, they were foreigners, too.

He assumes that unless your ancestors have lived in the country for
many thousands of years - you are automatically an invader.

I have no idea the number of years or generation are required to
eventually make you a local - only George can answer that.

Could take a while.
Consider that there are still ol' timers who can't think of Ron Wood as
a legitimate Rolling Stone even though he's been in the band for 30+
years!!! ;-) :-D

That would have to be the best analogy about the determination of
ancestral roots that has ever been made.

Good one!

Apparently, you don't know much about American history or prehistory.

Neither, apparently, do a lot of other trolls.  An American is someone
who was born here.  The majority of people in this country are
Americans.  Foreigners are those who were born in other countries.

So you are saying that only people who were born here are Americans?  I
take it that you apparently don't know much about our immigration laws.
You should read the one about naturalized citizens (foreign born).  They
are Americans too.  That doesn't change the fact that we are all ultimately
of foreign origin.

You can lead a foreigner to the driving school, but you can't make him
think.

I agree. Native Americans belong to this country.
Those foreigners from Europe, Asia etc should all be kept out.

The "Native" Americans came over from Asia, doofus.

IIRC, the Indians felt the same way about 100 years ago. You are proving
the right.

But even the "native American" immigrated to this hemisphere.  How long ago
is irrelevant to the issue that "America needs to ban all foreigners from
the country."  We are all foreigners.

You have the reason behind the talk of the U.S. making Chinese its official
language wrong. It has nothing to do with the Chinese spilling into other
countries, it has to do with the Chinese constantly financing the huge
national debt for us that they will eventually stop doing, and likely want
us to pay them back.
