BLACKSBURG, Va. - Eight out of 10 crashes involve drivers who are
drowsy, chatting on a cell phone, applying makeup or otherwise
distracted from the road ahead, according to a government study
released Thursday that videotaped people behind the wheel....

And since we all know 4 out of 10 crashes are alcohol related, that
leaves -2 out of ten that are related to speeding...

Save a life. Don't drink, pay attention and speed!

Consult a dictionary, then check your arithmetic.

"Related" is not synonymous with "caused".

It sometimes is (and it is not 'arithmetic', it is 'logic')

So how do you count a drunk, talking on the cellphone, driving 70 in a 55
who runs off the road and flips his SUV which rolls over the homeless guy in
the crosswalk?

Let's see.....drunks are 4/10...cellphone 2/10...speeding -2/10,
(canceling out talking on the phone)...running off road 1/10...flipping
an suv 3/10..., and running over a homeless guy in the crosswalk is
1/10...

so 9/10 accidents happen just as you described

"Speed-related," of course...

Two points for our side, three if the driver dies?
