You've seen them. The speeders. The DUIs, The red light runners.
Anyone in an SUV or RV. They're everyone and everywhere daring you to
get in there way so they can kill you. There are many solutions but
the best is mandatory life in prison w/o parole for anyone found at
fault in a highway crash. They are psychopaths and they cannot be
cured.

It is safe to assume you are a sunday driver. I doubt very seriously
you see many if any red light runners.
Anybody that passes you is speeding. Anybody that is going slower than
you is in your way. You read the fine print on business signs and the
stickers on everybody's license plate.

"Anybody that passes you is speeding".
So, you are driving at such a slow speed that people passing you aren't
speeding?

In many cases yes. In freeway driving i generally do 10-20 mph under
the speed limit. I'm not one of you insecure homo repubs that think
fast driving proves you're a real man.

Statistically, you are far more dangerous to other drivers than those
who are doing 10-20 over...

I'm sure you have no evidence for that but i don't care anyway cause i
know the truth. YOU CAN'T DRIVE TOO SLOW.

Oh, you're sure? Then I guess that settles that...
...not.
<http://casr.adelaide.edu.au/speed/lit.html>
"Six hundred miles of main rural highway were included in the study, 35
sections in 11 states. The sections were reported to have been
representative of main rural highways in the United States: three
quarters were two-lane highways, with the remainder being four-lane
divided highways; the average section length was 17 miles, although one
section was 91 miles long; a daytime speed limit of 55 to 70 mph applied
to 28 sections, 45 mph to two sections, and subjective limits (relying
on drivers' judgements) to the remainder...
...Solomon found that the daytime involvement rates took the form of a
U-shaped curve, being greatest for vehicles with speeds of 22 mph or
less (43,238 per 100 mvm), decreasing to a low at about 65 mph (84 per
100 mvm), then increasing somewhat for speeds above this (reaching 139
per 100 mvm for speeds of at least 73 mph)"
Notice that the slowest drivers were by *far* the most dangerous.
There are other references if you'd like.
But you should definitely read this next one. It's written by the the
"hief of the Traffic Safety Research Division of the Federal Highway
Administration", so you can't really discount it.
<http://www.ibiblio.org/rdu/sl-irre0.html>
You should especially read this bit:
"However, the findings to date suggest that, on the average, current
speed limits are set too low to be accepted as reasonable by the vast
majority of drivers. Only about 1 in 10 speed zones has better than
50-percent compliance. The posted speeds make technical violators out of
motorists driving at reasonable and safe speeds.
For the traffic law system to minimize accident risk, then speed limits
need to be properly set to define maximum safe speed. Our studies show
that most speed zones are posted 8 to 12 mph below the prevailing travel
speed and 15 mph or more below the maximum safe speed. Increasing speed
limits to more realistic levels will not result in higher speeds but
would increase voluntary compliance and target enforcement at the
occasional violator and high-risk driver."
Get that:
"The posted speeds make technical violators out of motorists driving at
reasonable and safe speeds."
"Our studies show that most speed zones are posted 8 to 12 mph below the
prevailing travel speed and 15 mph or more below the maximum safe speed."
"Increasing speed limits to more realistic levels will not result in
higher speeds..."

Sure. Yep, you drive 10-20 UNDER the speed limit.
NOBODY does that! And, you are a big nobody.

This is no joke. Bush has gotten away with stealing two elections and
blowing up WTC and lying america into war. So don't put a third term
attempt past him. I mean who's gonna stop him. The democrats and the

I'm not against cars; i own one myself. Owned a car all my adult life.
I'm against the predator drivers and they are not necessarily here to
stay. Not if we throw them in prison.

Good luck passing that one! Since you're a non-voter, I doubt you're
going to be able to get a representative to fall for your short-sighted
plan, even in Colorado.

Maybe you should up your anti-psychotics and not drive?
johns - 25 Apr 2006 22:01 GMT
My favorites are the ones who send out the "Pray for our Troops"
emails for you to send to everybody you know. And then they
drive around in their SUVs and Hicked-out pickup trucks getting
12 mpg. They are probably the same ones you are talking about.
Instead of putting them in prison, why not have them do "community
service" in Iran ?
