Naples, FL:  Live camera from the Tamiami Trail

Hi All,

The Tamiami Trail serves as an economic pipeline between Tampa and
Miami.  Spanning 275 miles long, the route helps divert traffic away
from Interstate 75 and serve the local economy.  The Trail is also a
consitituent of US Federal Route 41.

Along its path is the city of Naples.  Here, there's a local computer
shop that calls the Tamiami Trail home.  Available to the public is a
security camera which allows excellent views of Tamiami Trail traffic.
As of 11:45am EST, traffic was relatively thick on the Trail.

Here's where you can monitor Naples traffic, from the eye of the
computer shop:

(1)  http://www.byteshop.com
(2)  Scroll to the bottom lefthand corner of the main page.
(3)  Click on the security camera and enter the credentials provided.

The Byte Shop's computer services are excellent, so if your business
around Naples needs new parts or servicing thereof, do check 'em out!

Cheers,

Carl Rogers

You are joking, are you not?  RV Droz has an exquisite history of the
Tamiami Trail.  You really ought to read it, you might learn something.
Other then local traffic there is not much use for the Tamiami Trail.
Generally speaking it is a long way from I-75 to the Trail.  Unless 75
is horrible and hoplessly backed up, everyone stays on I-75

It is three lames in each direction but with lots of lights and lots of
commercial strips almost its entire length.  I would not use it unless
I absolutely had to.  Like a lot of US highways, its day is well over.

Take care, Randy

I checked it at roughly 8 PM CT and figured out why Carl likes it.

For the most part all I could see was dark, grainy images from inside
the company.  If there's a road outside I couldn't see it.

Take care,
Rich

See, ya miss the Krl Rgrz MAGIC! You're supposed to IMAGINE the wonderful US
Federal Interstate Route that passes past the door of the computar store,
and feel the JOY of it's hustle and bustle and translate same into multiple
languages, badly(Incidentally anyone else notes that Krl omits Spanish from
his list of languages to mangle?).

Err, yes, if you are talking to me. You did not paste my sentence so I
have no idea who this is directed to. If its to me, then yes, it was an
obvious joke...

I am sorry Jason, everything I said in this thread is directed to CR.
Sorry about that.

Take care, Randy
