Sloths and the bus

It's fun riding the bus instead of driving.  Yesterday, I saw two Sloths
do something stupid.  The bus was approaching an intersection when
somebody turned left in front of the bus, but turned slowly such that
the bus driver adjusted speed slightly to avoid the Sloth.  That wasn't
so bad, but the next Sloth in the left-turn lane sort of made seat belts
a requirement.  It turned in front of the bus while the bus was entering
the intersection and cut the corner on its side of the street.  The bus
driver had to brake hard to avoid the collision, missing the Sloth by a
very short distance.  Why couldn't the Sloths have waited for the bus to
pass through the intersection?

Because they are fing morons. Tonight I am driving home... just me and
one other car turning right from a cross street to go the same direction
as me. He waits until I am right up on him and then starts to pull out in
front of me. laying on the horn did no good, so I moved left to avoid him
and he stopped with the nose of his car in the intersection. Idiots,
plain and simple. He could have gone before or after me easily. Nobody
else around to distract him.... arg.

BECAUSE BUSES ARE INVISIBLE!!!

Having ridden the bus regularly for years, I can't count the number of
times cars have done stupid sh.t like this. For example, the bus will
be making a protected left turn, and cars from the oncoming direction
will try to make a right turn on a (for them) red light directly into
the path of the 20-ton object bearing down on top of them. Clearly
these people just don't see the bus.

Similarly, whenever a bus stops during heavy traffic conditions, there
is always a long line of stopped vehicles behind the bus, stretching
back through the intersection. Pinned down by heavy traffic in the
adjacent lane, these cars sit there and block the intersection until
the bus moves on. There's no question that these drivers just didn't
see the bus in the lane ahead of them; if they had, they would have
changed lanes sooner and not become trapped.

I've become convinced that buses come from the factory with a cloaking
device. While the bus is in motion it is completely invisible; it only
becomes visible when it stops to admit or discharge passengers. This
is the only explanation for the way drivers behave around buses.

Someone should walk down the street beside those "parked" cars and put
those retards out of our misery.

Why don't you argue that the faster one drives the less time spent driving and available to be involved in an accident?

GPSboi demonstrates he doesn't understand the concept of "zero velocity":

Please explain how you concluded a vehicle with a velocity of zero might be -the- contributing factor to a collision due to driver inattentiveness.

If only the buses came with rear-facing photon torpedo launchers as
well as cloaking devices...

Or at least have the decency to stop and not enter the intersection
untill they can exit the intersection. Oh, hell, who am I kidding????

Probably because the bus ran the light.

There's no such thing as a free lunch, but certain accounting practices can

That would be a very good question to ask those drivers...did you?
Otherwise how in hell do you expect anyone on this forum to know the
answer.
