Since some states have them (front plates) and some states don't,
wouldn't you think by now it would be clear to everyone that front
plates are not needed?  You know that if there was a correlation
between having a front plate and "better" law enforcement of some
sort, the cops would have done the study and been all over the issue
because they are the ones who always bleat about how things will go to
hell if the front plates are dropped.  The dropped them in AZ years
ago and despite all the bitching of the cops there has been no
evidence that the lack of the front plate makes law enforcement any
harder.

Some violation cameras are in front to catch a view of the driver, or
other reasons.

No every laaw is based upon safety.

Yep. The front plates seem to be there for automated number plate
scanning these days.

Of course, cars from a certain region of Mexico have license plate that
say:

FRONT BC

and they put these plates on the back of the car.

No, they're not idiots; they are from a border (Frontier) region of
Mexico;
Frontera Baja California is abbreviated: FRONT BC.

You mean they aren't from British Columbia? :)

Or that the car is at least 2,008 years old? :)

License plates are retroreflective. Requiring front plates gives them
something to reflect laser speed guns off of.
