Can someone explain the "New book on Michigan highways" thread?

Why would someone spend so much time doing this?

I think it's time to hang some spammers and porn peddlers.

But, I'm not going to make it my lifelong agenda and relentlessly spew it
here like some do about drunk drivers and speeders.

I'm not even sure whether it's just one person who changed the nym for
each launch of spam, or whether it's a porn spam ring.  The originator
needs a good Michigan Left - in the jaw.

I sent a couple of reports of abuse to the email addresses specified by
the web interface and that actual newsfeed provider over a month ago.
Apparently, it wasn't worth the effort.

Which makes you wonder WTF the owner of that web site is thinking. Is
he not paying attention? Does he just not care? Or is he actually in
on the SPAM?
