Excerpted from a new or upcoming book, _Oil on the Brain: Adventures
from the Pump to the Pipeline_ by Lisa Margonelli, this article gives
an interesting look behind the scenes at a (small, and these days,
perhaps anomalous) urban gas station:

Jeezus Christ!  You go there, and it's a maze of advs and links to other
sites selling insurance to nuts.  When you post a link, please make it to
THAT article.  I'm not gonna waste time wading through all that bullshit.
This qualifies as a spam post.

Sheesh.

Well, when I pasted it, that's what it was, but the newer, shinier
Google Groups seems prone to sins of both commission and omission when
it comes to line wrapping.    Assemble the two halves of the
abovementioned URL by hand instead of clicking on the link and you
should be spared the newspaper's "We couldn't figure out what you were
after so here are navigation links and some blinking ads" page.

Well, those things do happen, but I have no vested interest in the
book, the Chronicle, or its advertisers...

tinyurl.com is your friend. Why are you ignoring your friend? ;)
