Good to see the endangerment charge too. That should be standard when a
DUI has kids in the car.

Daughter of Supreme Court justice charged in DUI

A daughter of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was arrested
Monday night in Wheaton and charged with driving under the influence of
alcohol and child endangerment, Wheaton Deputy Police Chief Thomas Meloni
said.
Ann S. Banaszewski, 45, was stopped about 7:25 p.m. in a 1996 Ford
Econoline van near Gamon Road and Longfellow Drive after a citizen
reported a possible drunken driver was at the McDonald's restaurant near
there, Meloni said.
Three of Banaszewski's "small children" were in the van with her at the
time, leading to the child endangerment charge, Meloni said. He would not
disclose their ages. Meloni would also not disclose details of her
alleged intoxication, but said she submitted to a field sobriety test,
though he could not disclose its outcome.
"Probable cause was established to arrest and charge the driver with
DUI," Meloni said. Banaszewski was taken to the Wheaton Police Station,
where she was released on her own recognizance, Meloni said. A police
officer dropped her children at a family friend's home, a "common
practice" when someone is arrested with children, he said.
A court date has not been scheduled, he said. Meloni said police knew
Banaszewski was one of Scalia's daughters because of "previous contact
with the justice" and "common knowledge" in the Wheaton Police
Department.

sh.t!
Judge Smegma -- er -- Scalia -- he has, what, six, eight, ten
offspring? You can't expect even an uber-JESUS FREAK to raise all tea-
totalers, can ya?
Actually, this "incident" is in keeping with the Scalia-Cheny f.cked-
up ol' boys club. Cheney shot that guy in the face, as, meanwhile,
his lesbian daughter was in the sack with her butch, jousting with
dildoes.
Now, the judge has some braggin' rights, as his daughter is arrested,
boozed-up, with three kids in tow!
Ball's in Dick's court now ... make it a good one, Dick!

Laura?
We're all (or most of us) well aware that driving under the influence
is bad. For one, that's why I don't do it.
But what's the major ordeal on this one? People have minds of their
own. As much as I'm not tilted towards Judge Scalia's opinions, it's
not his fault his daughter blew it.

Point is that repubs are the TOUGH ON CRIME types who gave us this horrible
war on drugs with it's draconian penalties. And now Scalia's kid is caught
committing the worst of all drug crimes and endangering her kids in the
process. We'll see what happens to her but we all know there will no
incarceration.

Not everyone agrees that a simple DUI is "the worst of all drug crimes".
Considering no one died I certainly don't see it being as bad as say
forcing an 11 year old child to take a hot shot and overdose, or selling
crank in an elementary school, or raping a 10 year old girl in exchange for
her daily dose of crack. I'll bet the endangering charge is dropped and
then, like MOST DUIs, she will get probation.

Want to see 'it' backpedal? Just mention a story with the common
elements 'drunk driving', 'Chappaquiddick bridge', and 'Kennedy' and
see what happens.
I'll be back. Gotta go make some popcorn for this one!

We're not talking about particular cases but about the crimes in general.
Drunk drivers kill a lot more americans than crackheads do. THINK

Probably..
I escaped deathmobiles driven by drunks twice.
The craziest one was up on the Wisconsin-Illinois border.. driving
south around twilight.. flat farmland.. county road.. could see for
miles.. and one lone truck coming at me about a mile away.. headlights
on... about 40 mph.
It was driving nice and straight.. cool.. no problem... Until it was
about fifty feet from me...
Then the SOB cut right into and across my lane, big time.
I had to swerve into the other lane to keep from t-boning his silly
a.s.
I had no chance to discuss matters with him.. as he smashed across the
roadside ditch and went bouncing across a plowed farmfield with all
kinds of tools and crap flying out of the back of his truck with every
bounce.
Last I saw of his tail lights.. the truck was still bouncing towards a
small wooded ravine about a mile away.

I see you didn't stop to help him. Good for you as i wouldn't have either.
Hopefully he's dead and won't be endangering others now.

And Dems have stepped up to the plate to prove that they're also tough
on crime. The largest increase in drug arrests came under the Clinton
administration.

I hope she fights it all the way to the supreme court.
