Caught it on my way home from work today...

I did email and suggest as a possible follow up that the reporter
mention the documented increase in rear-enders at RLC intersections, and
also directed her towards the NMA web site if she wanted another
anti-RLC view.  It was, however, nice to hear at least one opposing view
that wasn't spun as kook ranting, and was actually factually correct if
a little short on supporting data.  It is perturbing that the media
still takes the IIHS seriously, however; IMHO they're big on dollars but
small on credibility.

In other news, the 944 is back in my driveway after a lengthy (and the
first in a while) stay at a local repair (actually race-centric) shop.
Those guys do good work, but dang, it sucks when you keep getting bumped
for race customers.  I've been going through real car withdrawal for a
while now and the shakes still haven't fully subsided.

Forgot to mention, the on-air report gave a little more time to the
issue of short yellows than the web site article, and also made a
clearer link between short yellows and revenue, at least that's the way
it came across to me as I listened to it.

Orlando is pushing for RLCs and I've already seen some really short
yellows. The local paper(bunch of liberals) is all for the RLCs but never
reports how many *real* RL tickets the police write NOW for comparison, and
how many times a year they have their "enforcement drives".(3x per yr)

Florida Constitution expressly prohibits RLCs.  B-)

I've driven two 924's,and they were both POS.
Both had a clutch like an old truck.Didn't like the ride, either.

Well, I can't get the Beeb in my car, so you take what you can get as
far as news goes.  I do think that NPR has a bit of a leftward slant,
but I seem to need less salt to listen to their news than I do, say,
Faux News.

I have no issues with the clutch in the 944, and as for the ride -
diff'rent strokes, I guess.  I have the standard (not M030 option)
suspension and stock 15" wheels, and I think the ride is about perfect
in its balance between comfort and road feel/handling.  Of course, I'm
probably a bit warped - I've never regularly ridden in a large car,
ever.  Biggest car my parents had when I was growing up was my dad's '67
Cutlass, everything after that was much smaller.  I don't feel
comfortable at all in a big, floaty car - I want to feel what's going on
down there!
