Señoras y Señores,

It's what the Worldwide Highway Library is all about...  International
coverage!  So it's really no surprise that Central American coverage has
been sitting on her docket for quite some time!  While the competition
scrambles to cover their home county, city, or American state, *the* Library
moves into more untapped arenas.  And we're happy that you're here to join
us!

Today, Guatemala's Carretera 1 is now on display.  Come see the
cross-country route as it traverses the outskirts of Guatemala's second
largest city, Quetzaltenango.  Buses, small cars and roadside-fencing outfit
the route that helps provide Mexican motorists w/ a clean window into the
rest of Central America.

A gran bienvenido goes to Jorge Morellon, the Chiapas-native who provided
the Worldwide Highway Library w/ that magnificent art.  There's no doubt his
contribution will add excitement to the online highway-gallery that Alexa
has *proven* the most popular of its kind for the month of April.

Enjoy!  Come join the wave of international exposure.

Cheers,

Carl Rogers

With *one* photo. Wow. Woulda been nice to get a closeup on those shields,
they look pretty funky. Nice dis of 'the competition'. I don't know about
you, but I can't turn a corner in New York without finding something
unique, never mind New England, or the other Mid-Atlantic States, or the
Midwest(thx to David Backlin). Just what's wrong with covering a county,
city or state? Why do you hate America? Think there are no 'untapped areas'
here? Think again. I don't 'scramble to cover' things meself, I have plenty
of photos in backlog, as do most of my associates. If I quit taking snaps
today, it'd take a good YEAR to process and post the backlog.
Unfortunately, with two major road projects in the immediate area, and a
third cranking up(The Woodbury plaza on the Thruway is going to open road
tolling), that's not likely.

Not to mention the Southeastern USA which is woefully under-represented
on his page, save for *one* picture from FL, a few from VA (both of
which, IMO, should be expelled from the Confederacy, but that's a
discussion for other places and times) and a couple from TN.

BTW, wouldn't it have been the height of irony if someone were to have
inserted a banana into the exhaust pipe of his car while down there?

Thanks for the candid feedback.  Doesn't it make you feel good inside to
express yourself?  The next time you're in town, let's have a big bear
hug...  I love you man! ;)

Watch out what he means by the term 'bear'. We all know Carl teeters

All that B.S. for one photo, a photo in which the road sign is
so small as to be unreadable?  Can't you batch up your hype, and
maybe post only after you have perhaps 10 photos to share?  And
this wasn't even your own photo...anyone can copy a photo from
someone else.  The trick to roadgeek site is to get out and see
this stuff for yourself.  Otherwise, all you are is a poor version
of Google Images.

I think you're a star on the rise!  Since you've become part of the "Top
1,500,000" on Alexa, your alternative-style feedback provides an
additional glimpse into a hobby that's expanding to an international
base.  Keep it coming!

Truly, yhe "Top 1,000,000" may be an admirable goal for an open-hearted
man who graces us w/ his phone number.  I'm rooting for Johnny.

Take care,

Carl

You don't say!  Oh, I love Caucasian Americans...  They're a fun bunch.

In fact, they're always fun to drink liquor with. Say, how about you and
me slam a shot of JD tonight?  That way, you can avoid beating your wife
for the second time this week!  I know you would have done it in the
name of Jesus, but I'm willing to have a good time w/ you anyways!

That's pretty f.cking cheap. I thought you were a 'republican', but right
now you're doing a pretty good imitation of a pissed off 'liberal' a.shole.
You need to mind that. I'm sure the 'liberals' don't want the bad
publicity. If you can't stand the heat, you should remove yrself from the
kitchen, me bucko.

LOL!  We're both comedians then.  Laurel and Hardy; Billy and Chuck.
We'll leave it to the ladies which of us is the more attractive one,
BTW. :-)

LOL!  I love the heat.  Competition creates innovation.  You know
that, Charles.

When will we see mryamamoto.com?  That's the million-dollar (...or $5/
month) question.

Posting one snap vs 300+? Referring ppl to your Timecube Stylee main page so
you get two site hits in a pathetic attempt to ratchet up yr counts? You
might note, I post snaps on Google and Flickr. I'm about getting content of
interest out, not site hits.

The picture is accompanied by this truly egregious example of
odological color-writing:

"Carretera 1, a constituent of the Pan-American highway, swaths an
east-west path through the beautiful country of Guatemala.  The city
serves the country's two largest cities:  Quetzaltenango and Guatemala
City.  Though we're driving on the country's main road, it is
recommended to watch for oncoming traffic.  Motorists in a hurry are
known to cross her center-line and pass others who they feel are too
slow.  The route encompasses great views of forest lifestyle and the
nighttime sky."

Ignoring the incorrect use of "who," what exactly is a "forest
lifestyle"?  Who "recommends" to watch for oncoming traffic?
Motorists pass slower vehicles on a two-lane road = bleeding obvious.
The nighttime sky can be seen once a day, practically everywhere.

All this paragraph really tells us is that Ctra. 1 is a two-lane road
and connects Quetzalenango to Guatemala City through forested terrain.

For Carl, spam is simply another lifestyle choice.

Sorry, I don't drink JD, I don't beat my wife, and I don't do things in
the name of Jeebus.

You must be projecting a bit.
