Suddenly geezers are driving through storefront windows all over the
country!
First it happens in Illinois:

Then it happens in Arkansas:

Now it's happened again in Arizona:

Why the sudden increase in geriatric gate-crashing? Or... Perhaps this
is the rate at which these sorts of crashes ALWAYS occurs, and it's
only recently that the media has taken an interest and begun covering
these stories?
Personally, I suspect the latter...

I predicted this a few months back when Russell Weller got off with
probation after killing 10 people. All the geezer drivers now realize
that nothing will be done to them even if they kill someone. Old coots
that quit driving 5 years are now behind the wheel again.

Gee, it's almost as if extremely elderly drivers are more dangerous
than speeders. Not that I'll expect you to draw the obvious
conclusion, but other people, who aren't brain damaged, will be able
to do so.

Our life may not always be the party we would have chosen, but while we
are here,we may as well dance!

I'd say they're about the same.

None of the above. It's because there are more geezers now than
ever. Just wait for the next 15-20 years as the boomers become
geezers.

I subscribe to an emergency notification paging service and see these things
all the time. Here's one from yesterday...
NEWTON, MA (MIDDLESEX) *CAR VS. HOUSE* OPPOSITE 611 WATERTOWN ST.; COMMAND
REPORTS VICTIM IS 58 YEAR-OLD FEMALE - VERY CONFUSED; NO APPARENT PHYSICAL
INJURY. MA10
I'm sure the confusion preceeded the crash.
