This is all part of a scam to add a multi-thousand dollar gadget to the
cost ofall cars. The solution to drunk drivers is to throw them in
prison for a few years and permanently revoke their license. Stop

The car that stops you drink-driving

A car that can tell when a drink-driver gets behind the wheel - and stop
him or her moving off - has been developed by Nissan.

It uses a combination of electronic 'noses' to sniff the air and cameras
and behavioural detectors to decide if a driver is inebriated. If the
answer is yes, the car is immobilised.

The system can even differentiate between the driver's breath and that
of passengers who may have had a drink.

Some cars are already being fitted with 'alco-locks', which require the
driver to blow into a tube to give a breath sample before he is allowed
to start off.

But the Nissan technology is different because it does not need any
action by the driver.

Instead, motorists are monitored from the moment they get behind the
wheel. An alcohol odour sensor checks the breath while another tests for
alcohol in the sweat of a palm touching the gear stick.

A tiny dashboard-mounted camera monitors the driver's face and eye
movements and detects whether they are fit to drive.

It measures the rate of blinking - an indicator of drowsiness - and
examines features such as the droopiness of the mouth to check for yawning.

When the detected alcohol level is above a preset threshold - which can
be at or below the legal limit - the system locks the transmission,
immobilising the car.

So your answer is to do something after they get caught. And how many
times do they drive drunk before they get caught - ten? Twenty? A
hundred?

Why are you against preventing the crime in the first place? Is it
because you like to drive drunk, or is it just because you're a
criminal coddler? You're probably coddling five or six criminals
right now, no doubt, feeding them snickerdoodles and telling them
there's nothing wrong with their lawbreaking ways.

And how many people are killed before the cops finally nab the drunk
driver. Since SFB is against this technology, then it is a logical
conclusion that SFB is a liar when it claims that it wants to save lives
and prevent "kid-krippling."

Probablly both. We already have an admission of drunkenness on its part,
to also dring and drive is not that big of a stretch. (see .sig)

Yes, although applying rules of logic to S&DDAMS thinking...heck, even
applying the word "thinking" to what it spews out is, at best,

alt.true-crime It's a fun place, you should visit. Lots of murder
and mayhem with dollops of frivolity and the occaisonal group troll
beatdown.
