OMG!

Gee, I wish I could figure out why so many morons, er, Americans die
from automobile accidents.

BTW, just got back from running some errands; my path carried me
primarily on untraveled rural routes with a great deal of visibility
360 degrees. I was able to perform the bulk of the driving at 35mph
over the limit, and managed to do so without killin' or maimin'
anyone.

I must be doing something wrong....

Hmm, lets consider that AAA Nascar sloth video...3 drivers are
frustrated by him futzing around at 25mph, and pass him - so that
means 3/4, or a 75 percentile of drivers are exceeding that limit
quite safely (they pass with so much time they can even glare at John
Force) ...ergo that limit is Underposted!
Therefore, what Tom McKernan of AAA should have said is 'Many
muncipalities deliberately underpost their speed limits for revenue
generation and because of NIMBY whining - AAA is now embarking on a
program to smack those municipalities beeyotches upside the head until
they do some real traffic surveys and set real limits..."

We are supposed to drive really slow so that when we get hit by the
idiot texting someone on her phone it will hurt less. (never mind any
actual physics involved should it be getting rear-ended)

Please engineer us the relevant equations, Mr. I'm an (unemployed but
incredibly competent but nobody will believe me) Engineer,

Personally, I don't believe you're likely to be rear-ended by a
texting driver going 80 or thereabouts, if you're going 25 in a 25.

But I understand the propensity to extrapolate to the ridiculous when
your argument is ridiculous to begin with.

Like your "magic hat" argument; a bicycle helmet is intended to
protect against a semi running over you and crushing your chest, but
won't, and so is worthless, and everyone who advocates for wearing a
helmet is an idiot.

There's an idiot afoot, but you'll never guess who it is in a million
years...

Why must you lie troll?? Why do you make stuff up? Are you so bored
in your retirement from the slightly better than brain dead profession of
being a trucker that you need to do this?

As usual, gpstroll has come up with something so off the wall that only
his warped mind can see a relationship with the topic at hand.

You're the extrapolating, dumbass. Gpstroll makes something up then says
I came up with it.

Another gpstroll mystery jump. The mind of a moron works in such
mysterious ways.

Considering that a helmet is designed to protect only from a six foot
fall, someone taller than six feet has already exceeded the capacity of
the helmet without the impact of a collision. Considering the relative
safety of bicycling, if you recommend a styrofoam hat for bicycling you
should also recommend them for climbing stairs and other mundate
activities.

Look in the mirror, asshat.

Dumb curissity, but in that last shot (the rear-ender), why was the
white car either stopped or slothing it up there? Staged accident,
maybe? Not to defend the other idiot's texting while driving (a
singularly stupid thing, IMO) but still.....

It does look like something Carl Troller would contrive, doesn't it?

Par for the course. The "event" that set off my question regarding
using gps tracking to disable mobile devices was due to such an
incident. I wrote about that in another post, but not the one
containing the stupid question.

Stupid girl sat through a light cycle texting. She was texting when
the light when green, and she was still going after it went back to
red. Fortunately at the time we were the only traffic at the time, but
this is a route traveled by emergency service vehicles.

Slowing down for a junction maybe ? There might have been busy traffic ahead. In
any case that white car was doing about the same speed as the other traffic
shown.

> Staged accident, maybe?

Of course it was *staged* ! It wasn't 'real life'.
