Well, lessee, now, over the weekend, Jacksonville, FL had at least 8
shootings and it seems that every day on the news is either a shooting,
a murder (not counting what the TN running game did to the 'Jags) or a
home invasion.
Now then what do you think that the city of Jacksonville is spending its
law enforcement money (which apparently is in short supply as it is)
doing? Why yes, they are going after Public Enemy No. 1: Somebody who
stays parked at a meter for too long, that's what - and with a high tech
(read expen$ive) ticketing/revenue $y$tem, to boot. (pardon the bad pun)
And then the city's marketing people and others lament that nobody wants
to shop/live/do business downtown and why people like me who come to J-
ville to shop or a night out (FWIW, when I go to the 'Jags games, I park
in a suburban park and ride lot about 5 miles from downtown and take a
shuttle to the stadium area and if I decide to make an evening of it, I
go to a restaurant in the 'burbs) head straight for the 'burbs and the
big boxes and malls with acres of plentiful harassment free parking.....

which do you think there's more money in it for them?(the LEOs and gov't?)
Catching shooters or collecting parking revenue?
Besides, having the shooters on the loose means they can whine for more
enforcement funds in the next budget, then raise their salaries.
