I am not normally out during early morning rush but I had to go for annual
blood test @6:30. Rounded a curve and county had radar car set up. Down the
road about 1/2 mile were 4 patrol cars w/lights and as I passed I counted 9
vehicles stopped on the shoulder. Cops were writing in ticket books and all
9 cars stopped were female drivers.
Back thru about an hour later and there must have been 15 cars lined up
waiting for citations, gender mixed.
Road has SL of 55 and there have been several accidents and 3 fatals in the
past 3 years. This road accumulates traffic from several small towns to the
interstate and is pretty hairy at all hours. About 2 years ago there
actually was a driver who went to sleep and hit a train, killing his
passenger.

When you hear the word "speed," do you think of numbers on a sign or
conditions at that instant and location as related to velocity of a
vehicle?
Very seldom are they the same.
