A motorcyclist was injured in a Fort Collins traffic accident when he turned in
front of an oncoming car, police said.
Gary Benjamin, 41, of Fort Collins, was driving a 2006 Yamaha north on Shields
St. when he turned left on Drake Road and collided with a 1991 Toyota Camry
driven by Tessa Mason, 17, of Loveland, police said.
Investigators believe Mason had a green light and the right-of-way. Benjamin
failed to yield to oncoming traffic, police said.
Both Benjamin and Mason were taken by ambulance to the Medical Center of the
Rockies in Loveland.
The accident, which happened at about 6 p.m., shut down the intersection for
about 3 hours as police investigated.
Details on the extent of Benjamin's and Mason's injuries were not available.
