I have a Magellan, purchased in late 2003. It's a decent model able
to get position in any coordinate system. I also have not heard of
Tom Tom.

Are you serious? They're all the rage in the northeast US right now -
they out-advertised Magellan and Garmin 2:1 from what advertising made
it to my eyes or ears. They make very user-friendly units, I got my
dad one for xmas and he loves it. Considering he's been meaning to
"learn" his Satellite radio for 2 years now, that's saying something -
he's not exactly computer savvy. Overall a good unit for the price,
and I did a bunch of research looking for an easy to use, easy to hear
and see unit before deciding.
