Five people died when two private planes flying about a mile from an
airport collided.

Two people were killed from each plane, and the fifth was inside a car
dealership that was hit by wreckage, said Wayne Pollack of the
National Transportation Safety Board.

The small Cessnas collided on Sunday afternoon near the small Corona
Municipal airport and a freeway in Riverside County, about 45 miles
south-east of Los Angeles, said Federal Aviation Administration
spokesman Allen Kenitzer.

Television pictures showed that the smashed fuselage of one of the
planes landed on top a parked car.

Eyewitness Hector Hernandez said he saw bodies falling from the sky.

"One of them crashed into the top of a Ford Mustang, and another one
fell not too far behind that one on the parking lot," Hernandez told
KCBS-TV.

This type of "automobile" accident is one of the few cases where I can
say being situationally aware would not have helped, considering
driving is inherently a two dimensional activity.

Its best to look up from time to time too. Especially near overpasses
where the S&DDAMites might be tossing Allah knows what over the guard
rail.

My speculation is that if S&DDAM's on an overpass, it's going to be to
busy with it's hands on the guard rail to be tossing anything off a
bridge. =))
