Hi Viatologists,

If you've never heard of Pyramid Lake, Nevada, this is now your
opportunity to catch up....  As the sister lake of Lake Tahoe, the
often overlooked lake combines desert scenery w/ a degree of
salinity.  Wintertime fishing is permitted here, which is due to the
lake's penchant *not* to freeze in near-zero temperatures.  To reach
Pyramid Lake from metro-Reno, your best thoroughfare in is Nevada
State Route 445.  Here's a comprehensive video:

This video discusses the path of Route 445, including archived photos
of the route's shield and plenty of Pyramid Lake scenery.  Enjoy!

The Worldwide Highway Library simply is your best resource for
information and content from northern Nevada.  Not to mention, we have
a collection of road captures from 18 countries (including the United
States)!

Cheers,

Carl Rogers

If you've actually ever been to Pyramid Lake, and Lake Tahoe, you'd
realize they have nothing in common and therefore can't be "sisters."

One (Tahoe) is foresty and the other is in the middle of the plainest,
most stereotypical, desert backdrop conceivable.
