I say cops should be held to a higher standard than the general public. Not
only should they be penalized for breaking the speed laws but their penalty
should be say 5 times that of joe lunchbox.

Union: Officers Won't Pay Speed Camera Fines
POSTED: 9:37 am EDT March 9, 2008
ROCKVILLE, Md. -- A certain group of drivers is refusing to pay dozens of
$40 fines issued by Montgomery County's new speed cameras -- the county's
police officers.
The police union said officers shouldn't pay because the citations are
issued to the owner of a vehicle, in this case the county, and not to the
driver. But that advice is causing a clash with the police chief.
Chief Thomas Manger said officers are not above the law and should hold
themselves to the same standards they hold the public to.
In the last eight months of 2007, the department's cameras recorded 224
cases in which police vehicles were recorded traveling more than 10 miles
per hour over the speed limit. Supervisors dismissed 76 of those citations
after they determined the officers were responding to calls or had valid
reasons to break the speed limit.

Are YOU a good and competent driver?

Does this quote answer your question?
Speeders & Drunk Drivers Are MURDERERS advocates unsafe driving:
"Yes - the stupid media BLAMED it on the fog. If the SL

Well, except for Santa Clara County (CA) Sheriff's Deputies. Did you see
that one fell asleep at the wheel the other day, and plowed in to four
bicyclists, killing two? Yikes.

I dunno, I've driven in Montgomery County and have not been overly
impressed by the driving skill of the cops. At least I haven't been
run off the road by any like I was just outside of Baltimore.

I think cops should be held to higher standards not necessarily higher
penalties. There was this cop who nearly slammed into us, mutiple
times, he killed a man walking while driving recklessly, speeding,
without lights.
Didn't get sh.t. You make a complaint then it's a toss up on whether
they start stalking your friends and
family, they get somebody killed, nothing on them, it's somebody elses
fault. The lawyers the aclu
tree huggers.

These "cops" you speak of, are they the same cops whose teeth you

Supervisors dismissed 76 of those citations

That's sort of my point. Never mind that the review process for
civilians would be something like "did you get the ticket? Then
you're guilty." Never mind that there was an ambulance behind you,
you were making a legal RTOR, the yellow interval was 2 seconds on a
45 MPH street, etc...

the penalty for a pig that breaks the law should be 100 times that of joe
lunchbox
pigs know (or are supposed to now) the law, if they break it, then they
should be severely punished (or shot and killed, either one works,
personally I prefer the second alternative for them)
