just try diesel.  In MO diesel ranges from $3.75 to $4.00 ($3.85 in
KC).  Truckers are taking it in the shorts...and we pay for it in the
stores.

I'm sure GPSwhiz doesn't mind passing on the cost.  :)

Diesel was over US$4.00 last time I drove past a station this morning.
Now that shrub and bernanke have  devalued the US Dollar yet again
(0.25% in the prime rate this morning and I hear talk of a full point
drop tomorrow), I suspect that the price will be going up...
up...up... yet again....

IF GPS is an independant trucker, he's going to be out of business
rather soon.....

Don't worry though, your $600 rebate should about cover it...

It's a toss up: I'd love to see a whack job like him off the roads, but
I'd rather he not add to the copious amount of time he already spends
here in RAD.

Think about what you just wrote:

I'd love to see a whack job like him off the roads
(implying of course that hes on the roads)

then:
I'd rather he not add to the copious amount of time he already spends
here in RAD.

Yeah, odd how he posts every day, 24 hours a day, presumably while he's
working as an OTR truck driver.  He's either got two heads or he's one
helluva f.cking MULTITASKER, y'know what I mean?  Or it could just be that
he pretends to be a driver, as that is the most obvious and simple
explanation.

Note I could be wrong, but check his posting history and try to marry that
up to what a typical OTR schedule is like.  Something doesn't compute unless
he's using usenet at 70MPH and I hope like Hell that isn't happenin.  -Dave

That will probablly cover about a tankful. Maybe a tank and a half...

Seriously, though, my plans for the bush rebate is to buy myself a new
bicycle. I've got my eyes on a 21 speed so I can ride the bridges w/o
having to dismount and walk like I'm doing now.

Off the road and running his sup here is better than endangering all
of us on the roads.

S&DDAM admits to putting others in danger with its beater:

"Foot pumps are a joke. I had one once and since the piston only moves like
2 inches it took 50 pumps to raise the pressure by one psi.  Go with the
hand pumps where the piston moves  around 15 inches. One of my tires has
exposed cords and i have to pump it up every week. "
