Just caught the end of america's most wanted... they profile a real cop,
a cop who investigates cases where the person put in prison is probably
innocent. They go through how he's caught the real killer or rapist and
then mention how by releasing evidence that got the innocent out of
prison he was suspended without pay...

Meanwhile practically every time we hear of some cop who has done
something clearly wrong, been caught on video doing it, etc they get a
paid vacation.

Somehow this just seems symbolic of how things are these days.

It's not just these days. Cops have always been corrupt and involved
in framing innocent people. This came out in the OJ trial 13 years
ago where the cops were caught multiple times in perjury and evidence
planting. The govt told the media not to talk about that and as always
they did as told and to this day still insist that the jurors were
idiots.
