Hi Viatologists,
The Worldwide Highway Library thanks the viatology community for an
*excellent* March! ...More than 3,000 hits came from RSS ("Really Simple
Syndication") subscriptions. Through a live user interface, random
samplings of the world's highways have been, and *are* brought to you in
photograph and video formats.
We would like to keep the momentum going and dub April as the "RSS Month"!
If you haven't subscribed to our RSS feeds, why wait? Pictures from Israel
and the United States await. Simply head to
http://worldwide-hwys.calrog.com and click to the RSS section . Check out
samples of North American videos and visit our entire collection later on at
your leisure! These RSS feeds are natively supported in IE7 and Safari.
While the competition consists of lonely YouTube fanboys who can't afford
their own URL (lol!), the WHL is proud to lead the way in web technology
like it always has. RSS, videos, advanced JPGs--yup, that's us. We present
quality videos of interchanges, highway shields and more. Head on over
today and see why we're simply the best. Guaranteed.

Sounds to me more like you are selling used cars than anything
else. That is the same sales pitch that I hear from the folks
that bring the old used cars up from Mexico and roll back the
odometers.

Yes, krl, I'm aware of what, "RSS," is. I have even subscribed to a
coupla feeds, such as the Comrade's and FreewayJim's youtube channel.
So, what's your point?

Ya wanna call yourself worldwide, eh? Well then howabout some snaps of
the following:
The Kabul-Mazar Highway in Afghanastan,
The Sheikh Fazlolah Highway and Yadegar-e-Emam Highway in Iran,
Iraq Highway 8 anywhere from Kuwait to Baghdad
and
La Carretera Central (The Central Highway) in Cuba.
Otherwise, you are just a poseur.

Probably is, since I'm absolutely *positive* he's capable of (over)using
a thesaurus.

Maybe if we are lucky, he won't post anymore this month and expect us
all to just look at the live bookmark for updates. Kinda difficult for
me since I haven't added him to the list of live bookmarks.... ;)

I so rarely come up with anything clever that I was sure one of you
had already done it. I didn't want to infringe on your territory
inappropriately by claiming something was mine when it wasn't.
There's a whole big scandal in rec.gambling.poker because someone
coined the amusing nym Car Bomb Mike for some nutcase who posts as
Irish Mike. People misattributed this Car Bomb Mike brilliance which
caused a bit of a scene.

I don't recall seeing that one before, so I suspect it's all yours. :)

How many of the 3,000 were the users applying the baseball bat to the

Unlike other sites that do not require RSS to be functional...but go
on, as usual.

Right. www.mylandofmisery.com isn't exactly a budget breaker.

You do realize that technology means that items are obsolete by the
time of reaching the market, don't you? Plus, most of us are more
discriminating on when to shoot photos and videos (as in daytime and
proper weather conditions).

Since he's only counting hits and not unique visits, I'm guessing that
the vast majority were krl hisself hitting the ol' F5 key. 3000 hits is
only 4 per hour and 96-97 a day.

Spider webs have an elegant, regular structure, and are often
beautiful to look at. Calrog.com is more like a plate of spaghetti.

Dude, you haven't had some of the really nice pasta dishes to be had
around here. Comparing CalBog's offal to spaghetti is too complimentary
to him and insulting to Italians!
