Speeders & Drunk Drivers are MURDERERS - 01 Apr 2008 17:14 GMT
Most people with suspended licenses are drunk drivers. That means they're
murderers and i don't want you criminal coddlers telling me about their
"rights".

Special plates for suspended licenses in works

Posted: Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 10:53 a.m.

JEFFERSON CITY, MO. (AP) -- The Missouri Senate gives preliminary approval
to legislation that would require many people ordered to give up their
driver's licenses to get a special license plate.

Having one of those license plates would be justification for police to
stop the vehicle to check if the driver is licensed. The special plates
would be needed whenever someone named on the vehicle's title has had a
driver's license suspended or revoked for more than 60 days.

The special license plates would use a different set of numbers or letters
than normal plates.

Supporters says people who have lost their licenses are more likely to be
involved in fatal accidents.

But critics say the restrictions go too far and trample property and
constitutional rights.

Does Ted Kennedy's limo get one of these?

Should just get a cop to give judy's beater all the equipment violation
tickets it deserves. After a month goes by, judy will join the ranks of
probably the greatest kind of person who has their license suspended,
those who cannot pay fines because they lack the money..

Don't mention teddy unless you want to talk about Laura "the rammer"
Bush and the former boy friend she murdered with her car.

I'll take that as a yes.

Sorry, but there doesn't seem to be a record this "Laura Bush" you
speak of who committed murder.  Odd.

His limo was issued a plate from the "SSN" series.

It must be April: a fool is on the loose.

Perhaps they could use the concept for a license plate for your
beater, including a background containing concentric red and white
rings.

One flaw with the concept is in a case in which a car is shared.  The
legal driver could get nailed because the owner is suspended.  It
appears opposite the RLC trend in holding a car owner responsible for
someone else driving and running the light.

Might as well shoot out the tires and release the owners name to the
tire shops, thus banning the driver from doing business until the
license is reinstated.

Washington state tried that back in the early 90s. It was a
distinctive color sticker to be applied to the plate.  Didn't last
long before it was cancelled but I don't recall the reason for
cancellation.

One problem that was immediately apparent was that it didn't stop them
from driving,  They would either just get another beater, borrow a
car, remove the sticker or just drive the car and to hell with the
chance of geting stopped.

Which is why highway criminals deserve prison time.  They wouldn't
drive with suspended licenses if they knew they faced that. Stop
coddling these killers.

To let a bit of light into that fog you call a brain.  In this state
DWLS (Driving while license if suspended) is a misdemeanor and _does_
draw jail time.  If I had $5 for every one I booked into jail, I could
afford to fill up both tanks on the PU again.

Maybe I'm missing something, but aren't people whose license has been
suspended not supposed to drive, you stupid sack of fetid monkey sh.t?

Typical criminal coddler "logic" that we always get from you.

Reckless drivers are killers and maimers and i and most other
americans want them off the highways.

Also, what makes these senators think that those who are driving on a
suspended license will comply with this requirement, but not the
requirement not to drive?

I can't imagine that you have a valid license, so why should you get
your own special plate?

to warn the rest of us about an unsafe car and driver?  B-)

furthermore,if a driver's license is suspended,he's not allowed to drive,so
why is he going to bother to get special plates that would give him away if
he did drive? And then there's the people who have had their licenses
suspended for unpaid parking tickets and E-Pass violations.
Some of them are/were unaware their license was even suspended.

IMO,if a driver's license is suspended,they should just put a "Denver boot"
on the car, making it undrivable,or just impound it for the duration.
(unless there are other users of that auto...)

That also was tried in WA.  Cars of suspended drivers could be
impounded and held for a period before being released after payment of
all fines and fees.  The cops had a fun time when the law was first
passed.  That is until the tow companies bitched because their lots
were full of beaters the drivers just left there and they couldn't
sell them for enought to cover the impound fees.  The drivers would
just go buy another junker.  I think the law is still on the books but
is another one that is mostly ignored.
