Yes, those subject terms look quite similar... They’re so similar
that my viewer logs show referrer-links for both terms.
The former term, viatology, has been coined to encompass the study of
roads. The latter is the name of a music album by an Alternative Rock
band named Pearl Jam. (Those familiar w/ the 1990s scene may remember
Pearl Jam’s smooth hits, e.g., “Who You Are” and “Better Man”.)
Quite frankly, the Calrog.com Worldwide Highway Library would trump
any success that Pearl Jam could ever create in viatology, whereas the
well-known website would not fare well in a redo of Vitalogy.
Now, don’t look for a new Baskin Robbins flavour called “WHL” anytime
soon, but then again, don’t expect Mr Vedder to pick up the art of
capturing high-quality roadside media from three continents.
