Coming off the freeway there are three lanes entering a 'T'
intersection: the leftmost one is left-turn only, the rightmost one is
right-turn-only, and vehicles in the middle one can turn left or
right.  To the left of the 'T' intersection is a short block ending in
a similar 'T' intersection, only the rightmost lane is closed for
construction, leaving one left-turn-only lane and one lane from which
you can turn either left or right.

Due to the lane closure, traffic in the center lane of the
cross-street was backed up to the intersection with the off-ramp.
However, the left-turn-only lane only had a few cars in it. Little
Miss MFFY in a silver 3-series with her dry cleaning hanging in the
back seat is in the middle lane at the off-ramp with her left signal
on. I'm in the left-turn-only lane at the off-ramp, second in line.

The light turns green. The car in front of me turns left into the
mostly-unoccupied left-turn-only lane on the cross street. Little Miss
MFFY, seeing that the middle lane was full of cars, enters the
intersection anyway and cuts across my bow into the left lane.

But she's not done yet.

Halfway down the (short) block, on comes her right turn signal, and
she begins slowing down, searching for a JLEDI who will let her into
the right lane so she can turn right. Eventually she found one. As I
flew past her, I gave her a nice big bouncing bird - she earned it!
One small consolation: I made the light; she did not.

Aren't you supposed to expect that idiotic lane change and slam on the
brakes to "let her in"?

Why didn't she simply turn right from the left lane?  I've seen other
drivers do that, and they stop all the traffic too.

A few weeks ago, I was stuck in a long line of traffic behind an MFFY at
a traffic signal.  It was the fourth car in the line when the signal
turned green for the left-turn lane.  I saw those three cars go through
the intersection and then heard the honking of people behind the
no-go-on-green driver.  The MFFY slowly accelerated, waited for the
signal to turn yellow, and slammed on the brakes.  Another light cycle
had the green arrow on again, but the MFFY refused to move.  It waited
for the yellow light and then went through the intersection.  I don't
understand this behaviour.

I didn't LET her do anything - she forced her way in. I had to brake
to avoid a collision.

Oh no, that would have been illegal.

One time in Tucson (eastbound River Road approaching Swan) I was about
a dozen cars back in line at the red light. When the light turns green
NOBODY MOVES. As I'm looking ahead for a stalled car, I notice that
the driver of the lead car is holding his left arm out the window with
his hand straight up as if to signal a right turn, except that his
middle finger is extended. After a few seconds, when it became clear
that he was not going to move, I pulled out of the line and went into
the (empty) left turn lane. Just as I got to the front the light
turned yellow; as I completed my left turn, the a.shole floored it and
went through the intersection, leaving whoever he was mad at as well
as a couple dozen other cars stranded for another light cycle.

I tell ya, if I'd had a McDonald's soft drink cup in my car, I'd have
instructed my wife to throw it into this a.shole's open window as we
passed by.

Um... why weren't you staying close enough to the car in front of you to
prevent her from doing that? You should have been able to see that one
coming. I certainly would have... princess in a BMW... backed up traffic
ahead in her lane... The lack of MFFY move would have been the surprise.

>But she's not done yet.

Of course not. She has to go right...

And there always is.

My tards of the day were just on my way back home a few minutes ago. 3
rice boys. They would drive really slow... I would pass them... then
they would accelerate after me. I gunned it up a bit move right and
nailed my brakes so they would fly past me. They did. Quickly
they slowed to a crawl so I caught back up to them even driving slowly.
Rinse. Repeat. Now laggard tard is behind me with brights and fogs on...
he's been driving like that before I encountered them. He acts like he
wants to pass... I move right... he follows staying behind me.... the
other two tards have slowed to crawl again ahead of me. I catch up to
them... I give all three the bird and exit.

Sorry, Brent - I know I let you down. :)
